Ribbon pledge against violence

White ribbons adorn the fence at St Francis Xavier College.

THE students at St Francis Xavier College know how to make a statement for sure.
All the kids were last week given a white ribbon and asked to write their name on one end and a pledge on the other to help stamp out family violence and violence against women.
The gesture, coinciding with White Ribbon Day, came on the back of last year’s memorable student-led sticky note campaign.
On that occasion, a group of kids plastered all lockers with a sticky note declaring, “You are important and you are loved” following the death of a student at their own hands.
Another great display of collegiate compassion guys!
