IF YOU saw a steer’s head protruding from a moving car’s sunroof recently, don’t worry, it was simply the latest initiative to entice people to a big agricultural event in Pakenham this weekend.
Parklea Pakenham and District Agricultural and Horticultural show photographer Graeme Vale was on his way to the Victorian Livestock Exchange to put up some advertising boards for the Hoof and Hook competition this Saturday, when he was pulled over by an extremely curious police officer.
The policeman was initially concerned with what he thought was some rusty tin protruding from his sunroof on his car, could be dangerous.
Graeme explained that it was simply a home-made wooden steer to advertise the competition. Luckily, the policeman was extremely understanding, and after a photo, Graeme was allowed on his way.
