A man was taken to The Alfred hospital following a crash in Pakenham.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Army Road and Princes Highway just before 4pm on Friday 19 February following reports of a crash.

A silver Mercedes sustained significant damage after it appeared to have been struck by another car on the passenger side door.

Two people were assessed on scene, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed, however she couldn’t provide details on age or injuries..

An air ambulance was dispatched to the area and was seen hovering over the Star News Group office however it later landed at the Pakenham oval.

Police initially said the male patient was being airlifted because of the “extent of his injuries”.

The Gazette understands he was eventually taken to hospital by road ambulance.

A spokesman from The Alfred hospital confirmed the patient was in a stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding the collision aren’t yet fully known.
