Local community volunteer groups in Cardinia and Casey regions will benefit from a share in $9 million of federal funding.

The grants awarded are between $1000 and $5000 and will enable organisations in the La Trobe electorate to better support their volunteers by purchasing small equipment, paying for fuel, transport and training costs.

Member for La Trobe, Jason Wood, said this funding will go a long way in supporting organisations and their volunteers through what has been a tough year and it was indeed a very competitive process.

“La Trobe has been significantly impacted by coronavirus this year,” he said.

“This funding will go a long way to support volunteers to continue their important work in the community.”

The community group grant recipients are:
