A Pakenham man who allegedly distributed child pornography online has been arrested during a raid by the Australian Federal Police on Thursday.

Detectives from the Victorian Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team executed a search warrant at a Pakenham home, seizing a haul of weapons and two devices containing images of child sex abuse.

A 21-year-old man was subsequently arrested at the property and taken to Pakenham Police Station where he was formally charged.

The AFP outlined the serious nature of the offence.

“Every photograph captures an actual situation where a child has been abused,” a spokesperson said.

He will appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
