A second person has been charged over the death of Pakenham teenager Laa Chol, who was killed during an altercation at a party in a short-stay city apartment.

A 16-year-old Truganina boy was charged by Homicide Squad detectives with being an accessory to murder and assault on Wednesday 25 July.

Ms Chol, 19, died after she received serious injuries at EQ Tower in A’Beckett Street in the early hours of Saturday.

Emergency services attempted to save her, but she died at the scene.

Police say Ms Chol rented a the city apartment for a party with a group of friends, and a dispute arose after a second group arrived.

Earlier this week a 17-year-old from Sunshine North appeared in court over the teenager’s death.

Police said the 16-year-old boy has been remanded and will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has been set up by Ms Chol’s friends to assist with the costs of her funeral.
