Musician Ben Whitely will be playing at the Butcher Shop Hotel on Saturday 14 April. The hotel will be open for dinner from 6pm onwards.

Art in the Garden
The Community Garden adjacent to the Koo Wee Rup hospital is a charming collection of vegetable and ornamental plants. On Sunday the 15 April it will also host artists demonstrating their techniques and artwork, including an exhibition by the local art class. Pakenham Rocks will be making an appearance and special artist’s rocks can be found hidden throughout the garden. Attendees will be able to paint their own little rock masterpiece. There will also be a community canvas to add to. The Men’s Shed will provide food and refreshments on the day. For more information contact Jillian Ronalds on 0413147396.

Group hike
The Hiking Society invites hiking enthusiasts to tackle the Four Brothers Rocks Track in the Bunyip State Park. The track is 13 kilometres, moderate difficulty, and takes around 4-5 hours. It starts on a wide forest track that narrows and follows a steep ascent up to a viewpoint (and lunch) at the top. The group will meet at 10am at Mortimer Picnic Ground.

Pubathalon
The Butcher Shop Hotel is bringing back Uncle Bob’s Club, who are getting together to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal for 2019. The hotel is looking for sponsors to join in on the day. Sponsors names will be displayed permanently on the pub wall along with the 2018 winners. There will be poker, quoits, coin toss, pool, hookey, darts and more.
