Casey Cardinia’s Gembrook Mobile Library now has a new home.
Locals who love the Mobile Library in Gembrook can now visit it weekly at a new permanent site right next door to the Gembrook Community Centre.
Mobile Library Team Leader Malcolm Davies said the community centre, on Gembrook-Pakenham Road, was an ideal location as it is near the children’s playground, skatepark and childcare centre.
There is also plenty of parking available.
Casey Cardinia Libraries CEO Chris Buckingham said the organisation was looking forward to offering a more accessible service to Gembrook locals as well as working with the community centre to deliver new programs and activities over time.
Plans include a regular community storytime for preschool children at the mobile library starting in 2018.
“The new location offers better access to parking, toilets and will reduce pressure on parking near the shops,” Mr Buckingham said.
“We hope that the local community will take the opportunity to visit the mobile library and see the great range of books, magazines, DVDs and music CDs that are on offer.
“CCL acknowledge the support of Cardinia Shire Council and the local community who have helped make the move possible.”
The mobile library will visit Gembrook on Tuesday afternoons from 2.30-5.30pm.
