Teen suffers head injuries in shooting

A teenager was flown to hospital in a critical condition following a possible accidental shooting at Neerim East on Sunday afternoon.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting in the Neerim East Forest, which saw the 17-year-old Nayook youth suffer head injuries.
Police have been told that he was with two friends at Memory Lane when the incident occurred about 1.30pm.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the injured teen was initially taken to Neerim hospital about 2pm.
He was later flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital for further treatment.
Investigators are still trying to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
A 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man are assisting police with their inquiries.
