EVERGREEN Retirement Village has celebrated its 10-year birthday milestone.
The anniversary evening kicked off with a three-course dinner and wine, followed by dancing to the Blue Reflections Jazz Band.
Evergreen’s first residents Enid McFarlane and Jean Thompson cut the cake to mark the occasion.
Evergreen’s Sharyn Allsopp said about 50 residents attended, as well as the retirement village manager Annie Roberts and families
“Everyone had a great time,” Ms Allsopp said.
“We have celebrated many things over the last 10 years.
“Last year, nine of our residents turned 80 and we had a big ‘Over Bloody Eighty’ party which was a huge success.”
Evergreen hosts many activities throughout the year including fund-raisers, small business expos, fashion parades, trivia nights, bingo afternoons, line dancing and seminars.
Other achievements include regular bowls tournaments with its neighbour McGregor Gardens Aged Care and the construction of a new pergola completed last year.
