Three intruders chased away in aggravated burglary

By ANEEKA SIMONIS

AN AGGRAVATED burglary victim took matters into his own hands, chasing intruders out of his Pakenham home in the dead of night.
Unfortunately for police, the man could not make out the identity of the three offenders during the confrontation except that they were carrying torches.
The 46-year-old man was asleep in bed with his partner when he awoke to the sound of footsteps inside his Gateway Avenue, Pakenham, home about 2.10am on Sunday 3 July.
When he got up to investigate, he found lights on down the hall and the laundry door ajar.
Then, two silhouettes appeared just outside the doorway.
Police said the man confronted the pair, and then watched as three people ran away.
Nothing was reported stolen.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
