SANTA is counting on the help of the Bunyip Fire Brigade to distribute Christmas gifts this year.
The fire brigade is inviting parents in Bunyip, Garfield, Iona, Modella and Tonimbuk to wrap and label a present for their child and hand it in at one of seven designated drop-off points.
Then, on Christmas Eve, Santa will deliver presents to children between 4pm and 8.30pm.
Presents can be dropped off by 19 December at Bendigo Bank in Bunyip, Bunyip Primary School, Bunyip Childcare Centre, Garfield Post Office, Garfield Primary School, Garfield Kindergarten or Bunyip Fire Brigade (Monday after 7pm).
The Santa Run is being organised by the Bunyip Fire Brigade and a small donation would be much appreciated.
Christmas cheer will also be spread at the Bunyip Recreation Reserve at the annual Carols by Candlelight, held on Friday 11 December.
Supported by the Bendigo Bank, those planning to attend are asked to arrive at 7.45pm for an 8pm start, or a little earlier to get something from the canteen.
Candles and glowsticks will be available for $2 on the night and guests are asked to bring their own chair.
No naked flame will be allowed, however there will be a fireworks display at the conclusion of the carols.
