HAVE you heard the students at Kooweerup Secondary College sing?
If not, their coming production of ‘Les Miserables’ will offer the perfect opportunity.
Students from Years 7 to 12 at the college have been working hard to prepare for the musical, which will be held later this month.
Set during the French Revolution, the show tells the story of Jean Valjean – a prisoner who breaks his parole and rises to become a mayor and business owner, takes custody of orphaned Cosette and finds himself on the run from prison officer Javert.
Co-producer and music teacher David Campbell said the students were rehearsing more regularly in the lead-up the performances.
“Everyone’s very excited and working really hard to ensure we put on a great show,” he said.
“It’s all coming together.”
Les Miserables will be held at the Kooweerup Secondary College School Hall on 27, 28 and 29 August.
Tickets may be ordered from www.trybooking.com/148374. Tickets cost $15 for adults or $10 for children/concession.
