Ankle broken in crash

A 33-YEAR-OLD woman was hospitalised with a broken bone after a crash on Racecourse Road in Pakenham last week.
Just after 5pm on Friday 5 June, the woman’s car was travelling along Racecourse Road when it collided with a vehicle which was attempting to turn into Simon Drive.
It is believed the woman overtook a stationary car in the single lane of traffic before colliding with a turning vehicle.
She was transferred to hospital with a broken ankle.
Three other occupants were in the car, one a small child, but all escaped uninjured.
The driver was issued with a penalty notice for the risky driving manoeuvre, which including overtaking a car on the left.
Emergency vehicles, including two from the CFA, and an ambulance attended the scene which caused major traffic delays.
