THE Nar Nar Goon Pony Club’s Come and Try Day was a big success on Sunday 1 March. Children learned all about the ways of the horses before getting into some serious fun riding, going over jumps, weaving through cones, racing around barrels and picking up flags while riding before tackling an obstacle course.
They also learned some rodeo stunts and received a demonstration and instruction from Australian and International rider Roy Murchison.
“The pony club members were mesmerized by his demonstration. I think he inspired some littlies to now ride Western style,” club secretary Shireen Taylor said.
