Burn-off caution

POLICE responded to an illegal burn-off in a Cardinia paddock last week.
About 9.35pm on Wednesday 4 March they spoke to a Bould Road home owner who was illegally burning off waste on his farmland.
Senior Sergeant Nathan Prowd cautioned residents against illegal burn-offs.
“People have to be aware of the current fire conditions,” he said.

Gang runs from fire
SIX young people were spotted running from a purposely lit grass fire in Pakenham over the weekend.
About 11pm on Saturday 7 March, police were called to Pakenham Spring Primary School where a small grass fire was burning.
The witness who alerted police reported seeing six youths run from the fire which was set alight using cardboard.
