Quick hands and keen eyes

THE Berwick Bridge Club enjoyed a fast-paced week of competition.
Beginning on Friday 13 February with 10 tables, David Yoffa and Shirley Collins came first for North/South with 64.12 per cent, followed by Alan Saultry and Ron Hubbard with 61.80 per cent, and Kathleen Wenczel and Pat Schelling with 57.63 per cent.
First for East/West was Bert Romeijn and Julie Day with 60.87 per cent, followed by Ellwyn Miskin and Bev Hastie with 59.25 per cent, and Mario Prochelle and Lalli Prochelle with 52.31 per cent.
On Monday 16 February, four tables played.
First came David Yoffa and Shirley Collins with 55.95 per cent, followed by Julie Day and Fran Kerlin with 54.76 per cent, and Sandra Spencer and Jim Dow with 54.16 per cent.
On Tuesday 17 February, seven tables played.
First for North/South was George Shand and Betty Nottage with 57.85 per cent, followed by Dorothy Scanlan and Bruce Greenland with 55.35 per cent.
First for East/West was Terry Sheaf and Heather Saunders with 64.99 per cent, followed by Sandra Spencer and Jim Dow with 56.66 per cent.
On Wednesday 18 February with 10 tables, David Yoffa and David Happell came first for North/South with 64.78 per cent, followed by George Shand and Patricia Beazley with 53.86 per cent, and Alan Saultry and Shirley Collins with 53 per cent.
First for East/West was Dianne Nicol and Steven Thorne with 68.98 per cent, followed by Bert Romeijn and Julie Day with 67.95 per cent, and Pat Schelling and Melissa Nouza with 54.92 per cent.
