AN OFFICER chemist was ram-raided last week by a man driving a white sedan.
CCTV footage has captured a man dressed in dark clothing reverse his car into the street entrance of Chemist Discount Centre at Arena Shopping Centre about 2.25am on Thursday 29 January.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Duane McDonald said the man gained entry into the drug store and fled soon after failing to access a locked safe.
“It doesn’t appear as if anything was stolen,” Acting Det Sen Sgt McDonald said, adding that the case was still under investigation.
The store’s shattered entrance along Damon Street was repaired by contractors the next morning.
A store pharmacist said the incident hindered business as it pushed back opening hours from 9am until 10.30am that morning.
