The family of 11 self-confessed “mad” Tigers supporters are holding out hopes their beloved team will this year take home the premiership, for the first time in almost 40 years.
Son Brad Collett thinks this year, after a “horrible 2016” they have what it takes.
“Despite a few hiccups along the way, the Tigers have produced their most consistent performance since their 1982 grand final season,” Brad said.
It would be nice, he said, to break the 37-year drought.
There weren’t many memories of successful Tigers wins, Brad said, and there certainly hadn’t been a premiership since the family donned the yellow and black.
“Through our childhood, we were forever watching Richmond games either at the MCG or at home together, but unfortunately there were a lot of losses back then,” Brad said.
He said for the sake of his family, he hoped the Tigers had what it took to secure the cup.
“When the Tigers win, it is a very happy household, but when we lose, it would be fair to say that we are not the most cheerful bunch,” Brad said.
