A hattrick to Declan Pepping has helped Bunyip navigate its way to a high-scoring 6-5 victory over Barton on Saturday in the Football Victoria Men’s State League 5 South Competition.

Barton finished the match with 10 men, which helped the hosts overcome a 4-2 halftime deficit to pull off a stirring upset.

It’s Bunyip’s first victory of the new season and they will be favoured to beat local rivals Pakenham this Saturday afternoon, with United struggling so far this season.

The winless Pakenham went down 5-0 to Noble at Alex Nelson Reserve on Saturday after 11-0 and 1-0 losses to start the season.

Endeavour Hills, meanwhile, remain undefeated, with a strong second half seeing them to a 3-2 win over Cleeland United.
