Garfield legends inducted into Hall of Fame

Inductee 1. Jim ‘Frosty’ Miller

By David Nagel

There were legends as far as the eye could see at Garfield Football Club on Saturday as its much-loved home at Beswick Street provided the perfect backdrop for the induction of 10 Hall of Fame members.

Legendary full-forward Jim ‘Frosty’ Miller was the first inducted into the Hall of Fame, with his career at Garfield dating back more than 60 years.

The honour roll of champions was enormous with 2500 games played between them; 33 best and fairests won; eight league best and fairests, 28 leading goalkicking awards and, most importantly, 22 premierships won.

The senior and reserves teams at Garfield wore specially minted jumpers on Saturday, carrying the names of the 1964, 1994 and 2004 premiership teams.
