The Have Hope; Inc family celebrated in colourful style over the weekend, hosting its inaugural Colour Fun event on Saturday 13 April.

Have Hope; Inc. is a Not-For-Profit (NFP) Incorporated Association registered in January 2023, but the founder, Bozica (Bobo) Davis has been helping people, along with her loyal team of volunteers, under the name of ’Have a Little Hope’ since losing her eldest son to suicide on 13 April 2016.

Since then Bobo and her team has worked to provide welfare by providing food, goods, and support to people who have suffered the effects of suicide, hardship from domestic violence, and trauma.

Have Hope advertising and media co-ordinator Cara Leishman said the inaugural event was a success, with the attendees receiving a warm-up Zumba session with instructor Renee Kendall before running around Deep Creek Reserve with colour stations dotted along the track.

“The day was about celebrating life and having fun,“ she said.

“Lots of fun was had with everyone getting colourful from head to toe.

“By the end of the course, participants were smiling from ear to ear, covered in all of the colours of the rainbow.“

Ms Leishman said the event was possible due to the support of the broader community, including Legacy Hire, Noye Landscapes, Giving it a Second Chance Op Shop and Pakenham MP Emma Vulin.

“We’d like to thanks everyone who participated as well as all of our Have Hope volunteers who give their time and dedication to supporting us and their community,“ she said.

“We would also like to thank our sponsors, supporters and the local businesses that gave up their time or donated items to assist us on the day.“
