Drouin man arrested after ramming Police vehicle

Police have arrested a 27-year-old Morwell man after he allegedly rammed a police vehicle in a stolen car in Drouin overnight on Wednesday 5 January.

Officers were patrolling when they observed a stolen gold Mazda sedan parked in a driveway on Kraft Crescent just before midnight.

The driver allegedly accelerated into the Police vehicle after officers stopped in front of car.

The driver subsequently fled on foot through neighbouring property before he was located hiding on the roof of a residential property by Police.

He was arrested without incident and is currently assisting with enquiries.

The Police vehicle sustained moderate damage during the incident.

No officers were injured as a result of the incident.

Investigators have since established the car used in the incident was allegedly stolen from a Morwell address on the morning of Wednesday 5 January.

The investigation remains ongoing.
