A 24-year-old P-plater, driving an unregistered car on the wrong side of the road, was intercepted in Berwick.
The Clyde man allegedly returned a positive breath test four times over the legal limit.
Police said he had his vehicle impounded and an immediate loss of licence for 12 months, as well as an upcoming court appearance for driving related charges.
