A shed has been burnt to the ground in Nar Nar Goon North allegedly after a burn off got out of hand.

CFA were called to the scene on Warner Road around 2.30pm on Saturday 9 October to find a small shed at the back of an apple orchard property alight.

Nar Nar Goon CFA second lieutenant Marcus Tong said they believed a neighbour’s burn off had started a small grass fire, which sparked the shed fire.

“It was full of netting,” he said.

“It had pretty much completely burnt to the ground by the time we got there.”

Nine trucks responded and it took 13 lengths of hose to reach the blaze.

Difficult access due to wet and muddy terrain meant only the ultralight 4WD vehicles were able to drive close to the fire.
