Police have arrested a local man following an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Mornington last month.
On Tuesday 14 September, a 36-year-old woman was pushing a pram along a track beside The Esplanade, near Strachans Road in Mornington shortly after 1.30pm when the incident took place.
It’s alleged that a man approached and then sexually assaulted her.
Police released an image of a man they wished to speak with in relation to the incident and appealed to the public for anyone with information to come forward.
On Friday 1 October, a 29-year-old Pakenham man self-presented at a police station in relation to the incident.
He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
