School zone speedster

A woman was caught travelling at 63km/h in a 40km/h school zone in Pakenham on Tuesday 27 October.

Officers from Cardinia Highway Patrol intercepted the silver Mitsubishi along Toomuc Valley Road about 8.45am.

They spoke to a 30-year-old Pakenham woman and revealed her driver’s probationary licence was suspended due to accumulating too many demerit points.

Police understood the driver knew it was a school zone as she had five children in the vehicle and was on her way to drop them off at school.

Due to the suspended licence, her vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1280.

She can expect to be charged with speeding and driving while suspended and will appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
