The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) have identified the Officer and Berwick railway stations as “high risk locations”.

DHHS revealed on 1 September that a person who had tested positive for Covid-19 reportedly caught the 11.20am train from Berwick to Officer on Saturday 22 August.

The confirmed case is understood to have boarded the train in Berwick before hopping off at Officer between 11.30am and 2pm.

The passenger then caught a Moe bound train from Officer and arrived at Moe station later that afternoon.

While it would appear the passenger changed to a V-Line service further along the Pakenham line, no other train stations have yet been identified by DHHS as a high risk location.

It’s understood the person then visited a Hungry Jacks in Moe between 4 and 5pm.

The three train stations have been identified as locations which could potentially pose a higher exposure risk to the virus.

DHHS have confirmed the exposure risk posed at these sites has now passed, however anyone who visited either station on Saturday 22 August should watch for any Covid-19 symptoms.

If symptoms do occur, immediately get tested and stay at home until you return a negative result.

As of Tuesday 1 September, there were 28 active cases of Covid-19 within the Cardinia Shire and 133 in Casey.
