Even through the pandemic it has been business as usual for the family run One Agency Real Estate agency in Kooweerup.

Agency principal Rob Mure is a local born and bred, not only working in the buoyant Kooweerup/Lang Lang real estate market – but living in and loving that area too.

“Honestly we haven’t seen too big of a difference,” he said.

“I think a lot of the other agents panicked, closed their offices, started doing 3D tours and working from home but we stayed open.

“I haven’t seen a big difference (in the market). Probably early on it slowed down a bit but it’s been okay.

“The only thing we changed – we did routine inspections by video for a while but now we’re allowed back in the houses, we’ve gone back to normal unless someone requests it.”

Rob said he thinks that the steady as you go trend will continue in the up and coming markets.

“Look we’re still doing appraisals, listings – we’re still selling. It seems, for us anyway, it seems to be going okay – for now.”

He said buyers were coming from everywhere to the region.

“There’s no real pattern to it – people seem to want to move into this area,” Rob said.

“Kooweerup is still a small country town – close to amenities but still with that beautiful country feel that people crave.

“That’s what people come here for, they want that big block, a shed, room for the kids to run around,” he said.

“You can’t get that in the suburbs.

“People have been locked up and all of a sudden they realise – hey we haven’t got any room – there’s no back yard, so a bigger block would be a good thing. The kids can go out and run around, you can grow the veggies and you’ve got somewhere to relax.”

Kooweerup was one of the best performed suburbs in Australia last year but for Rob Mure and his family it’s not a real estate market to exploit – it’s home.
