A family is desperately searching for their cat, which was allegedly stolen from their Pakenham home.

Cat owner Ian Ramsbotto’s says a young girl, about 12-years-old, was allegedly seen taking ‘Missy Kitty’ from his Viola Avenue address on Sunday 24 November.

“Someone has taken our cat, which we saved from the pound nearly two years ago,” Mr Ramsbotto said.

“At the time we took the cat in we heard it had been mistreated and abandoned.

“We just hope that whoever has her treats her with kindness as we have done for two years.”

Mr Ramsbotto says he has checked the area, pound and animal shelters to locate his cat but hasn’t had any luck.

“We are reluctant to adopt anymore from the pound or animal rescue shelters in case a similar thing happens again,” he said.

“We want to warn others that this may happen to their pets.”
