Police are confident a number of drug raids carried out in Pakenham and Cranbourne will significantly “disrupt” the cultivation and trafficking of cannabis in Casey and Cardinia.

The Gazette understands a total of 117 cannabis plants were seized from a number of Pakenham addresses and 111 plants from Cranbourne addresses, after officers from the Southern Metro Division executed four search warrants over two days.

Police found an electrical bypass to a Pakenham rental property after two alleged offenders were arrested.

They’ve been remanded in custody to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court in relation to cultivate narcotic, traffic and possess cannabis and for theft of and possessing a prohibited weapon.

Cardinia police said one of the offenders will be taken into custody by immigration after her court matters are dealt with.
