Staff at O’Shannessy early learning centre came to work dressed in their pink pyjamas on Thursday 24 October in a bid to bring awareness to breast cancer.

Throughout October, Pink Ribbon aims to celebrate breast cancer awareness month, with the annual campaign serving as an opportunity to focus on the disease and its impact on those affected.

The colour pink in general has long identified the breast cancer brand, expressing moral support for women who are suffering and have suffered the disease.

Centre manager Shelley Campbell said the centre will also host a fun run in November, with all families in the community urged to get involved by dressing in pink and donating to the cause.

“Here at O’Shannessy we have a great community of families that are always willing to be involved and donate to a special cause,” she said.

“Sadly, we all know someone that has been affected by breast cancer.”

The centre will also host a fun run on Sunday 24 November from 10am-12pm at 10 O’Shannessy Street, Pakenham. After the fun run is complete, there will be a sausage sizzle and cold refreshments offered to all participants.

Everyone in the community is welcome.
