It’s the perfect September accessory and a Pakenham businessman believes everyone should be donning a Richmond scarf this week, especially those in the market for a new suit.

Charlie De Maio from Men of Style on Main Street has transformed his clothing store into an alluring yellow and black facade.

“Already I’ve had a few people in and I’ve had people yelling ‘Go Tiges’ from across the road,” he laughed.

It’s not the first time the retailer has got into the spirit of September, decking out the shop during Richmond’s dream premiership run in 2017, with the mad supporter enjoying the recent success of the biggest club in the AFL.

“I’ve supported them since I was a kid because mum and dad supported them, so I jumped on the train and never jumped off it,” he explained.

“Win, lose or draw, I’ll always support them and wear my colours no matter.”

Richmond will take on the newest club of the league, GWS Giants who will make their grand final debut at the MCG on Saturday 28 September.

Despite the Tigers heading into the big game as clear favourites, unlike many fans, Mr De Maio is remaining level headed, ensuring a 12th premiership isn’t a given.

“My gut feeling is that we’ll win but I’m always very cautious because on the day anyone can win,” he said.

“I’m just going to enjoy the week, to be honest it was more stressful last week needing to get over the preliminary final.”

If the Tigers are to take the flag, Mr De Maio is looking forward to adding even more memorabilia to his growing collection.

“I’ll probably leave them up until I have to do my Christmas lights,” he laughed.

“It’s all very exciting and I just can’t wait.”
