A Pakenham farmer shed tears of joy after discovering he is now over $1.4 million richer from scoring division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The hardworking man held one of the 14 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3963, drawn Saturday 13 July.

Each winner takes home a division one prize of $1,428,571.43.

A TattsLotto official broke the life-changing news to him on Monday morning.

“That’s a big win,” the man said.

“We’ve been farming all our lives and we’ve been doing it tough for a while.

“This will mean we are able to pay off all our debts and give us a bit of a break.”

When asked how he might spend his windfall, the lucky winner knew exactly how he’s like to use his prize – a trip across Europe.

“We’ll look at getting someone in to look after the place so we can go on a holiday to Europe. It will be good to take a long break,” he said.

“I can’t wait to tell my wife. I’m not sure if it’s best to let her get home from work first or to tell her now.

“Either way, I’m not sure she will believe me.”

The thrilled winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 50-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
