Car bursts into flames

A car towing a horse float engulfed in flames along the Princes Highway in Bunyip at about 2.06pm on Monday.

The cause of the fire is unknown however it was likely caused by a mechanical fault, a CFA spokesperson said.

The flames spread to the grass next to the highway about 50 metres west of Tonimbuk Road, before emergency services had the fire under control by 2.30pm,

No one was injured and the horse made it off the float safely.
