Booze bus haul

A booze bus set up by police on the old Princes Highway between Army Road and Windermere Boulevard in Pakenham on Sunday 11 November roped in a number of offending drivers.

Four drug drivers were nabbed, as well as a 34-year-old Kooweerup man who was driving on a suspended licence and who had his car subsequently impounded.

A motorcyclist was also caught red-handed driving an unregistered vehicle, unlicensed and with false plates.

He was wearing an unsafe motorcycle helmet which he had found on a hard rubbish pile and resprayed.

When the man spotted the booze bus ahead he stop short of the bus site, but was stopped by police.

He had his motorcycle impounded for 30 days at a cost of $972 and due to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
