Doctors, nurses and staff at Pakenham’s Station Street Clinic gathered for a luncheon on Friday 31 August to say farewell to a much-loved member of their team, Practice Nurse Jen McKenna, who has retired after working at the clinic for the past 14 years.

Jen’s long and distinguished career began as a trainee at The Alfred Hospital in 1972, and she has witnessed many changes along the way.

Over the years she has worked at Dandenong, Pakenham and Kooweerup hospitals while also raising three children with her husband Jamie, but her commitment and love of the job at Station Street earned her the reputation as the ‘Mother Hen’ of the clinic.

Jen now looks forward to taking life a bit easier, doing some travelling and helping to look after her six grandchildren, but will be sorely missed by her colleagues and many patients that she has cared for and taken under her wing.
