AMATUER models were invited to strut their stuff at a fashion parade on Friday organised by Berwick’s Red Cross branch.

Hosted at the St Andrews Uniting Church, the event raised a wholesome $1267 for Disaster Relief and Recovery in Australia.

The parade was just the latest venture by the charitable group, which last year fundraised for war-torn Syria and Myanmar.

Bunnings and St Margaret’s School both assisted in the fundraising, forwarding an additional $1653 to the Red Cross Calling Appeal.

Alongside the fashion show, the day also included a trading table, Mother’s Day raffle and a luncheon.

Red Cross publicity officer Glenys Collins said it was a huge success.

“A relatively small but very enthusiastic number in our branch continues to work and show what the power of humanity can achieve,” she said.

“Some of our members are involved in Emergency Services work and are called out to help in times of fires, floods and domestic incidents so we also sent $700 to assist there.”

“We would welcome new members or interested guests to our meetings held at the RSL Hall in Langmore Lane Berwick on the second Friday of every month at 10am,” she said.

Ms Collins also invited all to attend the next blood bank collection to be held at the Narre Warren Community Hall in August.
