A man has been rescued by neighbours during a brutal two-on-one attack in Pakenham on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old, who was walking home from Cardinia Station about 11:40pm on Tuesday, was suddenly approached by two men.
According to the victim’s sibling, one of the perpetrators asked him for the time – to which he apprehensively denied.
“My brother said to the guy that he didn’t bring his watch or mobile phone, as he already had a feeling he would get robbed if he took it out,” David Paulus said.
“They started punching my brother from the front and back, kicking him while he was on the ground.
“When he called out for help, one of the neighbours came out and called the police on them.”
The assailants reportedly fled on foot towards Sun Orchid Drive, leaving the 25-year-old ailing on the footpath.
Police arrived on scene shortly after to collect statements.
“My brother’s birthday is next week and he gets assaulted by two teens under his age,” Mr Paulus said.
“He’s still feeling a bit sore on his jaw, forehead and spine.”
The 25-year-old has been treated and is awaiting further results from hospital x-rays.
Police are searching for two men, described as of African appearance, approximately 160cm and 165cm tall, both of thin build.
They are believed to be between the ages of 18 and 20.
