Residents at Evergreen were "the most attentive audience" according to film director Glenn Triggs.

Residents at Evergreen were treated to a private screening of Pakenham-produced movie ‘The Comet Kids’, which features a scene shot at the village.
“We had shot a scene at Evergreen Retirement Village for the film with veteran actor Reg Gorman”, local director Glenn Triggs said.
“The residents were great on the night as extras in the background of the ’nursing home’ scene.
“It was a real thrill to go back there two years later to screen the movie for them.”
Word of the screening travelled quickly around the village, with an impressive number showing up to catch the adventure-packed flick.
“I have to say the 30-large group were the most attentive audience we’ve ever screened the film to – reacting to minor and major parts of the movie with interest and enthusiasm which really makes what I do worth it!
“They all got a real kick out of seeing themselves on screen and all cheered when their names appeared in the credits.
“Annie Warner from Evergreen hosted the filming and the screening and has become a great friend since production.
“We couldn’t have achieved the realism of that scene without her.”
The Comet Kids is now available Australia-wide on DVD and Digital HD.
