A man caught driving at more the twice the speed limit told police he needed to go to the toilet.
Police detected a white Volkswagen Golf travelling at 163kmh in an 80kmh zone at 3.40am on Tuesday 13 June.
The 24-year-old Narre Warren man explained his excessive speed saying he “was in need of the bathroom” and admitted that she should not have been speeding.
Police escorted the man home to use the facilities.
His vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1019.
The male driver will be charged on summons at a later date.
