A Beaconsfield business that was a finalist in the Premier’s Sustainability Award in 2016 is encouraging other local businesses to nominate this year.
Beaconsfield Dental was a finalist in the Small and Medium Enterprises category, with its environmentally friendly building design and dedication to using biodegradable products placing it among the most sustainable businesses in Victoria.
Owners, Rob and Lisa Panjkov, said they aimed to be the most environmentally friendly dental practice in Australia and actively invested in sustainability measures to reduce the environmental impact of their business.
Ms Panjkov said the Premier’s Sustainability Awards had been a talking point among patients while also demonstrating that the business took caring for the environment seriously.
“Beaconsfield Dental is very proud that we entered the Premier’s Sustainability Awards in 2016,” she said.
“This has most definitely motivated our team to continue improving our business with regard to environmental and sustainability issues.”
The Premier’s Sustainability Awards are Victoria’s highest honour for sustainability, recognising excellence in a wide range of sectors from small to large business, education, community, health, government, environmental protection and the development of innovative products and services.
Sustainability Victoria chief executive, Stan Krpan said the Premier’s Sustainability Awards provided a channel for passionate individuals, communities and businesses to share their great work with all Victorians.
“With 10 categories in this year’s program, there’s an opportunity for a range of organisations to celebrate their sustainability leadership with the wider Victorian community,” he said.
Entries close Wednesday 21 June 2017. For more information about how to enter the awards and to book for a free information session, visit www.sustainabilityawards.vic.gov.au
