Two friends were relaxing at home when a burglar wearing a green/ grey hoodie and a bandanna over his face entered their Pakenham home and demanded $4000.
Police believe that the intruder, who was wielding a baton, entered by the back door at 10.30am on Friday 5 May.
Senior Sergeant Andrew Smart said the occupants fled, as did the burglar.
“The occupants have run out and the offender has gone out the back door and over the back fence,” he said.
The burglar has not been identified, and police are continuing their investigations.
