Fatal crash and truck fire

A DRIVER has died following a fiery two-vehicle accident involving a truck in Pakenham South this morning (Friday).
Police have been told a car travelling north on Kooweerup Road and a south bound truck collided near the intersection of Watson Road about 7.30am.
The truck caught fire following the collision.
The driver of the car, yet to be formally identified, died at the scene of the crash.
The male truck driver and male passenger escaped the burning truck without injury.
The deceased driver was the only occupant of the car.
Emergency services expect heavy traffic delays in the area for the duration of the morning, with the scene blocked off to traffic.
