THE sighting of an unidentified creature at Bunyip, which drew an uncanny resemblance to a mythical bunyip, took residents by surprise on 1 April.
Someone thought they may have caught the glimpse of a possum-like animal’s tail, others exclaimed it was surely the bunyip.
But the prank posting failed to trick the majority of Gazette’s all-too clever social media following who quickly clued-in to the story’s date stamp.
