CARDINIA Shire Council celebrates National Youth Week with its free series of activities this April.
The activities are aimed at young people aged 12-25; however residents of all ages are invited to attend and get involved in the exciting events.
National Youth Week 2016 is being celebrated across Australia from Friday 8-Sunday 17 April. This is a joint initiative of Australian, Victorian and local governments and it is also a chance for young people to highlight their achievements, put their talents on show, express themselves, make new connections and have a great time.
“Our National Youth Week committee is made up of three members from Council’s Youth Services team and a dedicated group of young people. It’s great to see both Council and young people working together to organise this year’s activities, and it’ll be fantastic to see it all come to life” said Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Jodie Owen.
Highlights for the week include:
Saturday 9, South East League skate/scooter/BMX competition at Pakenham Skate Park from 10.30am, followed by a Freeza music event from 3pm, concluding with a projection display on the skate park.
