POLICE are seeking two witnesses to a fatal crash in Pakenham South in late January.
A 22-year-old Mt Evelyn driver died at the scene after her Hyundai Excel veered across Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road and collided with an oncoming Holden Rodeo ute about 2.49pm on Thursday 28 January.
The ute’s occupants, a 54-year-old Bales man and his passenger, were taken to Dandenong Hospital with minor injuries.
Casey Highway Patrol officers want to speak to two witnesses as part of preparing a report for the State Coroner.
One is the driver of a red hatchback that stopped to assist those involved in the collision but left prior to police getting their details.
The other is a male driver of a north-bound dark-coloured VT Holden Commodore who signalled to a truck driver to warn him of the collision ahead.
Leading Senior Constable Ken Niven said he found it hard to believe these witnesses had not yet come forward despite extensive media coverage.
