NOMINATIONS are now open to recognise those who have made an outstanding contribution to Cardinia shire.
The Stan Henwood award commemorates the lifetime achievements of the late Stan Henwood.
Mr Henwood was a Tynong resident who passionately dedicated time and energy to the community through charity work, sporting and volunteer roles.
For the first time, members of the community are able to nominate people who they believe are worthy of the award, which will be presented at the annual Mayor’s Volunteer Reception in May.
Mayor Jodie Owen encouraged residents to nominate people who demonstrate Stan’s attributes.
“There are many people in our community who also have a commitment to volunteering and devoting their time and resources to make Cardinia shire a better place to live, work or visit,” she said.
“This award recognises Stan by acknowledging other individuals across the shire with the same commitment to their local community.
“We all know someone who continually goes above and beyond and the Stan Henwood Award is an opportunity to nominate and recognise that dedication.”
To submit a nomination or for more information, visit www.cardinia.vic.gov.au.
Nominations for the Stan Henwood award close at 5pm on Friday 1 April.
