More for kids than ever before

THE Berwick Show will have something for everyone this year – including the kids.
The new family area, aptly named Kidding Around, will feature more activities for the kids than ever before.
Berwick Show Committee member and mother of three Nicole Hanssen said there would be extra on offer for kids this year.
“The family area is actually a new thing.
“Previously we had free pony rides and the animal nursery and they were kind of the only free things for kids to do,” Ms Hanssen said.
“I think we’re a real family demographic in this area and it’s important to get stuff happening that younger kids could do.
“The older kids look for the rides and show bags but that can be pretty expensive.
“This new family area is more to attract people to come to show and not pay for fortune, and have a real nice family day.”
Ms Hanssen said her three young children – Max, Layla and Cade – couldn’t wait for the Berwick Show at the end of the month.
“They are very excited, they’re already building their Lego sculptures,” she said.
“I went to the show when I was a kid and it’s so nice to be involved in such a community event, it makes things nice for the general community.”
The Berwick Show will run on 27 and 28 February at Akoonah Park in Berwick.
