THERE would be few pooches more loved than this Nar Nar Goon pet.
Porsche the miniature Poodle has been missing for the past three months – and there is little else her pining owner Mary Cleary can do to help locate her beloved companion.
“I’ve contacted between 200 and 300 vets in the state asking if they have seen her,” Ms Cleary said.
Porsche, now 16 months old, went missing from her two-acre block in Nar Nar Goon on Friday 14 August.
Ms Cleary said Porsche loved to chase rabbits on surrounding properties, but that day never returned home after a day running about.
“It was getting dark that day. I saw her with her head down walking toward the gate. She wasn’t chasing a rabbit … she was on the scent of something. I called her name, she looked up and kept going,” she said.
“That was the last time I saw her.”
Ms Cleary and her daughter Jo have tireless searched the area for Porsche, calling on neighbours to examine their property as well as frequently checking in with Cardinia Shire Council and VicRoads.
But no amount of effort has helped relocate the family’s red, microchipped toy Poodle.
“She’s not a dog that strays,” Ms Cleary said.
Jo Cleary wrote on a lost pets online forum: “She is ours and we need her back. There will be no action taken and the reward will still be paid. We just want her home.”
The family is in the process of securing her property with a back fence in the hope Ms Cleary may hold on to her pooch if she is safely returned.
Ms Cleary urged anyone with information about Porsche to contact her on 0433 977 321.
